Taranto is my hometown, the place I left twelve years ago when I moved to Ireland. Every time I return to visit my family, I find myself drawn back to the old city with a camera in my hands. There is something magnetic in the narrow streets of Taranto Vecchia — a sense of history, silence and presence that seems to rise from the stone itself. Photographing these places feels less like documenting a city and more like returning to something deeply familiar, layered with memory, distance and belonging.
