CLEARING SPRING STORM

OLD HEAD OF KINSALE, KINSALE, COUNTY CORK, 2023

The clouds slowly part, revealing patches of spring light dancing on the jagged cliffs and the waves crashing against the shore. The beautiful cliffs of the Old Head of Kinsale have witnessed centuries of history and battles. One of the saddest and most touching is the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915, not far from these shores, an event that helped change the course of history.

As my gaze wanders along with my thoughts, I am distracted by seagulls, which hover lightly, like thoughts carried by the salty air, while a solitary sailboat slowly glides across the water, almost touching the boundary between dream and reality, embodying the desire to explore the unknown, to push beyond, following the line of the horizon that fades into uncertainty.
